Breeding creates cosmetic color variants. Use two animals of the same species and different sexes in the same Barn or Coop, give both a heart treat on the same day, and leave one open space. A baby arrives after four in-game days.

Set up housing before breeding

Keep the compatible parents in the same Barn or Coop and make sure the building has room for the offspring. The heart-treat step must be completed for both parents on the same day.

If every space is filled, the breeding attempt cannot create the extra animal. Leave the open slot before starting rather than moving animals around after the fact.

How color tiers carry forward

Animal colors are organized into six tiers. The offspring's color is chosen from the tiers available from its parents, so higher-tier parents are the basis for working toward rarer variants.

Color does not change the animal's products. Breeding is therefore a collection and customization system, not a way to increase the value of eggs, milk, wool, or other animal goods.

Plan seasonal variants

Tier 6 contains seasonal variants, so the calendar matters when you are trying to complete the rarest color set. Baby colors are random within the tier available from the parents.

Use breeding as a progression

Maintain compatible housing, complete the same-day heart-treat setup, keep one empty space, and wait four in-game days. Keep promising offspring for the next generation if you are climbing toward a higher color tier.

Tip

Treat breeding as a deliberate climb through rarity tiers rather than an unstructured random roll.

Color is cosmetic: animal products are not changed by the offspring's color tier.
