Fields of Mistria Switch & Platform Availability

Last checked: August 27, 2026. Fields of Mistria is currently available on Windows PC, is officially Steam Deck compatible, and supports Linux / SteamOS through Steam Linux Runtime 4.0 (steamrt4) on Steam OS. Console support is TBA and additional platforms are being evaluated.

Platform status at a glance

Steam Deck and SteamOS notes

The native Steam Deck version is intended to improve stability and reduce memory footprint. Leave Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool unchecked to use the native version; the option is disabled by default, so most players should not need to change anything.

Linux support is bounded: running outside Steam, on another distribution, or in another runtime is not officially supported and may not run as intended. The current Linux save location noted by the official patch is ~/.local/share/FieldsOfMistria/saves.

Linux / SteamOS hardware requirements

The safe current SteamOS / Linux requirements are Ubuntu LTS with Unity, GNOME, or KDE; a minimum Intel Core2 Duo E6400 or AMD Phenom X2 Dual-Core GP-7730; and a minimum NVIDIA GTX 460 1 GB or AMD Radeon R7 240 1 GB. The recommended processor is Ryzen 3 3300X with an RX 480 8 GB. Memory and storage figures are omitted because the Linux listing uses unreliable MB units for those fields.

Is Fields of Mistria on Switch?

No officially announced Nintendo Switch release was listed as of the checked date, and there is no official Switch release date. NPC Studio's safe status is that console support is TBA and potential ports are being evaluated. Do not treat a rumor, store listing, or estimated date as confirmation.

Windows PC requirements

The checked Steam requirements list Windows 10, a 64-bit processor and operating system, 6 GB RAM, GTX 460 1 GB or Radeon R7 240 1 GB graphics, DirectX 11, and 2 GB available storage as minimums. The listed recommended target is Windows 10, Ryzen 3 3300X, 8 GB RAM, RX 480 8 GB, and 2 GB available storage.

The current Linux listing mixes inconsistent units in parts of its memory/storage fields, so those figures are omitted here rather than presented as reliable player requirements. There is also no current official macOS availability listed in the verified sources.
